Our state-of-the-art blood machine enables us to have results within the hour for the majority of conditions. We use blood tests to diagnose various conditions including liver disease, myopathies (tying up) and peritonitis amongst many others. The ability to have results within the hour allows us to direct the most appropriate treatment and removes much of the stress for owners having to wait days for results.

A new addition to our laboratory is a LAMP PCR machine. This machine is tests respiratory fluid for Strep equi (Strangles), herpes virus, influenza and other bacterial infections. We are able to test and identify the presence of Strep equi (Strangles) within 1 hour of receiving a sample.

We also have full urine analysis capabilities and a microscope for assessment of skin samples or aspirates

Our laboratory also has an incubator and microscope facilities to allow us to perform semen assessment and analysis, whether for poor fertility investigations, or prior to artificial insemination .
