Free Yard Visits

A number of yards we attend are entitled to a free visit. This is normally on a set day each week and will vary depending on which yard you are on. At each yard there should be a poster detailing which day the visit is on and further information regarding booking your appointment. These free visits are available for routine procedures such as vaccinations, teeth, passports etc. If you would like to know whether the yard you are on is entitled to a free visit give the office a call on 01562701334 and we can help you further.
Saturday Routine Visits

We attend horses up to a standard radius of 25 miles from the practice, though will attend up to 45 miles in some instances. A standard visit would apply if you wish to specify a time or individual vet to attend your horse. These visits apply during the day between 8am to 530pm and on Saturday mornings between 830 to 130pm.
Zone Visits

Our discounted zone visit scheme applies for routine work- teeth, vaccinations, microchips, passports, repeat prescription checks etc. The areas we cover on the zone visit are shown below in the map. Depending on your location you will either be entitled to a £15 visit fee or £25. The £15 fee applies to those yards within a 7.5 mile radius of the practice, the £25 fee applies for those yards up to 15 miles from the practice.

Emergency Visits

We are available to attend your horse at any time of the day, 365 days a year. We are proud that we look after all our own out of hours care, so it will always be one of our vets that comes to attend your horse. During normal office hours (8am – 5pm) contact the practice on 01562701334.
Out of hours, contact the practice on 07428470745 and you will get straight through to the veterinary surgeon on call.
Whatever the time of day, or night your call will be answered by the veterinary surgeon on duty. This ensures rapid response, ensuring your horse receives care as quickly as possible. They will also be able to advise you about what first aid and help you can give whilst waiting for the vet to arrive.
When requesting an emergency appointment please try to provide:
- Owner’s name
- Horse’s name
- Location of horse
- Details of emergency
- Full contact details of owner
- ‘What three words’ location of horse if known
