Meet our friendly, experienced staff

Field Equine Vets is a newly established equine practice based in Blakedown, which developed from Clent Hills Equine LLP. All of our staff have worked for many years together and pride ourselves on providing the highest standards of veterinary care is a friendly, conscientious and caring way.

All of our staff either ride or own horses themselves and this puts them in the perfect position to advise owners when it comes to their horse’s care.

We are very fortunate that we have close working relationships with a number of recognised specialists. These vets come to our clinic to examine cases that require more involved work up and tests. A number of more advanced surgeries are also performed, including laparoscopic cryptorchid castration and ovariectomies.

Anne Cole

Anne works with us on a Friday, as a part time receptionist and accounts supervisor.

We always say in the office- if Anne can’t work it out no one can!

She has worked with and owned horses for over 30 years and has spent the last 15 years within the veterinary industry. Outside of work Anne enjoys looking after and riding horses, walking, skiing and bird watching.

Freya Warmington-Christmas

Clinic assistant/ receptionist/water treadmill assistant

After joining the horse industry not long after leaving school, she completed an apprenticeship at a full livery yard. Freya worked there for just over 3 years getting the opportunity to manage the yard and horses which helped her gain lots of skills and experience working with horses and people.

Freya joined Field Equine vets in 2023, her working day involves, answering the phones, booking appointments and keeping the vet on the road, in the right place and at the right time!

Freya has owned horses for 11 years and loves being able to work with them too. She currently owns two horses, George and Flash, and loves spending her free time with them. She also has her little dog Flo, who she loves taking for walks and has occasionally come into the office with Freya.

Aleisha Harris

Reception and Social Media

Aleisha joined the team at Field Equine Vets in May 2023 and I can say, with total confidence, everyone is just fantastic!

My job role includes all reception duties, keeping record of the worming programme and running the Facebook and Instagram pages.

Before joining Field Equine I worked at an equine referral hospital for a short time and before then at a riding school/competition centre.

Since leaving college, I worked to gain my coaching qualifications and got my first job teaching children and adults how to ride and care for horses. I also enjoyed backing young horses to become school ponies. In 2018 I completed a Veterinary Nursing Assistants course, in my spare time, and got the chance to learn more in-depth knowledge into equine anatomy and nursing care.

In my spare time, I love to ride and care for my horse, Lilly. Walk my three cheeky dogs and create content for my own equestrian social media accounts that I manage.

Most days I bring my three dogs, Dexter, Digby and Dilly with me into the office. They’ve quickly become best friends with Rosie’s lovely dog Tweed.

Rosie Mcnally

Office Manager

Rosie graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 2013 after completing a FdSc in Equine Sports Horse Management and Training and a BSc (Hons) in Equine Sports Science. During Rosie’s time at university, she worked as a freelance groom for a well-known showjumper.

In 2016 Rosie became a receptionist at a mixed animal practice before joining Field Equine Vets in October 2019. Rosie’s working day involves Managing the reception team, managing the accounts, sarcoid referrals, arranging JMB Height Measurements and Pre-Purchase Examinations.

Outside of work Rosie enjoys gundog training with her fox red Labrador ‘Tweed’.

If you ever have to pop into the office, be sure to look out for Tweed, he’s usually sleeping under the desk.

Claire Brown

BVSc MRCVS
Claire graduated from the University of Bristol in 2001. In October 2001 she moved to Worcester and started work at a small animal and equine practice. During this time she did a lot of charity work. Claire worked at this practice for five years then moved to Clent Hills Veterinary Group, then subsequently on to Field Equine Vets.
Claire enjoys seeing and caring for our geriatric horses. Linked to this and PPID (Cushings), she also enjoys being able to help our laminitis cases. This stems from her final year at University where her casebook looked at laminitis.
She also enjoys looking after our camelid friends (alpacas!) and relishes the challenge of managing wounds which our equine companions seem so adept at getting!
Claire is also on the JMB panel for measuring horses/ponies. She is also one of the select JMB vets who remeasure when there is a requirement to do so. In addition to this Claire is approved by the RCVS as an inspector of Riding Schools and is also trained in the use of acupuncture as an adjunct in the treatment of musculoskeletal pain.
Claire’s second love outside of her veterinary work is side saddle and haflingers! She owned a 26 year old haflinger stallion called Tom who was her beloved side saddle partner. Sadly she lost Tom last year (2024) after owning him for 13 years. Life has obviously been very different since then but she has continued to ride and be involved with the Haflingers thanks to generous friends. Claire was also chairman of the Haflinger Society of Great Britain from 2019 until 2022 as well as sitting on the Committee for the Side Saddle Association previous to this.

Harriette Smart

BVetMed MRCVS BSc Comparative Pathology Hons

Hatti started at Field Equine Vets in 2021 after graduating from the Royal Veterinary College in 2020 and is passionate about all things reproductive medicine. As a student, Hatti spent time at Twemlows Stud Farm in Shropshire and KEROS AI and Embryo Transfer centre in Belgium where she trained to perform artificial insemination, rectal palpation and ultrasound and assisted in many embryo collection and transfers.

In her final year at university Hatti also conducted and published research into early pregnancy loss in the mare, which she presented at the International Symposium for Equine Reproduction in 2018. As well as having an interest in research, Hatti is an Official Veterinarian meaning that she can certify horses for export outside of the UK. Her favourite part of working as a vet is being able to tell owners when their horses are successfully pregnant. She is enjoying running our stud package programme and hopes to undertake a certificate in equine stud medicine in the coming years.

Outside of work Hatti enjoys growing vegetables, scrap booking, reading and spending time with her working spaniel Jax (who often accompanies on visits!)

Georgia Poolton

BVetMed MRCVS

Georgia qualified from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 2021 and joined Field Equine Vets shortly after.

She enjoys all aspects of clinical work but has a keen interest in internal medicine! Particularly, gastrointestinal, respiratory and endocrine disease. Georgia also is keen on dermatology, ophthalmology and equine behaviour. She hopes to begin studying for a certificate in Equine Internal Medicine this year.

Like many of us ‘horsey people’- Georgia’s love of horses and all things equine began at an early age, and she grew up spending countless hours volunteering at a local riding school and caring for her own horses. Georgia was a keen member of the Pony Club, and achieved her ‘C’ efficiency test and all of the horsemanship badges… (which are sewn onto a pony club jumper that still fits her!!)

Outside of work, Georgia is kept busy by her own horse Max, Georgia has owned Max since she was ten years old, and he now enjoys a slightly easier life retired! Max is often found covered in strange clip patches, as living on site he is the go-to equine for demonstrating and trying any new equipment (ultrasound scanners, ECG machine, Equinosis etc). As long as there is a lick on offer, he is more than happy to oblige! Georgia also enjoys going to the gym and doing Pilates.

Zoe Griffin

Veterinary Clinic Manager

Zoe started with us in November 2020, primarily as a groom and extra pair of hands.

However, she soon realised she found the veterinary side of the job extremely interesting and since pursuing this, has progressed massively.

Zoe is now clinic manager, this role entails over seeing everything that happens in the clinic. Ranging from assisting with procedures, medication orders, stock take, maintenance of equipment, care of inpatients and communication with owners.

Most likely, Zoe will be one of the first faces you will see when you drop off your best friend at the clinic, as she also admits any inpatients for procedures happening in the clinic.  She always tries to ensure that you horses have a good experience when coming to us by being calm, cool and collected at all times.

In her spare time Zoe is passionate about horses having had her own from the age of 4. She enjoys walking her dog Rocky who also get to come spend days at the clinic

Katy Carrington

Anna Hutchinson

Practice Manager

Anna has been with Field Equine Vets since the very first day, 1st March 2016, so I am sure many of you will be familiar with her

At work much of Anna’s time is spent doing all the insurance claims, she really is the queen of insurance! She also manages the health and safety for the practice, trying her very best to keep everyone (especially the vets) safe out of mischief- which is easier said than done.

Anna is heavily involved in the practice standards scheme, ensuring we maintain our accreditation with RCVS. Which we were awarded again this year thanks to all the hard work put in by team.

One of the most enjoyable parts of the job for Anna are helping our lovely clients with their insurance. When your horse is unwell- having someone dedicated to your claim can really help take some of the pressure off, in what can be a stressful time.

Outside of work, Anna spends time with her 18-year-old daughter & partner.
