Alastair Field BVSc (Hons) Pg Cert VPS Cert AVP (EM) MRCVS
Alastair qualified from Bristol University in 2004 with honours. He then began work in a mixed practice focusing primarily on equine work. Following 12 years he decided to set up an equine only practice based in Blakedown alongside colleagues from his previous practice. He has a particular interest in Equine Internal Medicine and holds a certificate in Equine Internal Medicine which he received in 2018. Alastair enjoys spending time with his young family and is a very enthusiastic amateur gardener!
Dan graduated from Liverpool University in 2015. He was awarded the Derek Knottenbelt Prize for Equine Medicine, and the AnimalCare Award for his “contribution to vet school life alongside outstanding academic achievement”. Dan has completed a certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice, also with the University of Liverpool, and hopes to be studying for some further examinations and certificates in the next few years when time allows!
For the first 9 months following graduation he worked in a mixed equine and small animal practice in Worcestershire before becoming part of the original team at Field Equine Vets when it opened in March 2016. He felt very honoured and thrilled to be asked to commit to the practice further and join into partnership with Alastair in 2019.
Dan enjoys all aspects of first opinion practice with interests in dentistry, medicine, and ophthalmology. He feels very fortunate to do what he does and loves interacting with clients, their horses and working with all the staff at the practice.
Outside of work Dan enjoys spending time at home with his wife Liv and all their pets (2 dogs, 4 cats, 2 rabbits and horse Token). Dan also enjoys watching cricket and plays for Pedmore C.C. in the local Worcestershire league.
Jo graduated from Nottingham University in 2012, initially working in mixed equine and small animal practice. Jo then moved into equine only work at local ambulatory and clinic-based practices.
Jo’s further professional qualifications include a Certificate in Advanced Equine Practice and being an FEI Permitted Treating Vet.
Jo enjoys the variety of being a general practitioner, treating a range of conditions in all horses and ponies and has a particular added interest in lameness and poor performance work. Jo enjoys providing emergency care as part of being a vet as well as covering equestrian events supporting the sport.
Outside of work Jo is busy with her son George, black Labrador Benny and riding as much as possible.
Hatti started at Field Equine Vets in 2021 after graduating from the Royal Veterinary College in 2020 and is passionate about all things reproductive medicine. As a student, Hatti spent time at Twemlows Stud Farm in Shropshire and KEROS AI and Embryo Transfer centre in Belgium where she trained to perform artificial insemination, rectal palpation and ultrasound and assisted in many embryo collection and transfers.
In her final year at university Hatti also conducted and published research into early pregnancy loss in the mare, which she presented at the International Symposium for Equine Reproduction in 2018. As well as having an interest in research, Hatti is an Official Veterinarian meaning that she can certify horses for export outside of the UK. Her favourite part of working as a vet is being able to tell owners when their horses are successfully pregnant. She is enjoying running our stud package programme and hopes to undertake a certificate in equine stud medicine in the coming years.
Outside of work Hatti enjoys growing vegetables, scrap booking, reading and spending time with her working spaniel Jax (who often accompanies on visits!)
Georgia qualified from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 2021 and joined Field Equine Vets shortly after.
She enjoys all aspects of clinical work but has a keen interest in internal medicine! Particularly, gastrointestinal, respiratory and endocrine disease. Georgia also is keen on dermatology, ophthalmology and equine behaviour. She hopes to begin studying for a certificate in Equine Internal Medicine this year.
Like many of us ‘horsey people’- Georgia’s love of horses and all things equine began at an early age, and she grew up spending countless hours volunteering at a local riding school and caring for her own horses. Georgia was a keen member of the Pony Club, and achieved her ‘C’ efficiency test and all of the horsemanship badges… (which are sewn onto a pony club jumper that still fits her!!)
Outside of work, Georgia is kept busy by her own horse Max, Georgia has owned Max since she was ten years old, and he now enjoys a slightly easier life retired! Max is often found covered in strange clip patches, as living on site he is the go-to equine for demonstrating and trying any new equipment (ultrasound scanners, ECG machine, Equinosis etc). As long as there is a lick on offer, he is more than happy to oblige! Georgia also enjoys going to the gym and doing Pilates.
